Rectification is a re-distillation of the essential oil to remove certain chemical compounds. Eucalyptus globulus essential oil is often rectified to reduce its odor and its irritating molecules content. It also contains a controlled rate of 1,8-Cineol higher than 70% which gives it expectorant and mucolytic properties.
