History and Origin
Prickly juniper is very common around the Mediterranean Region. It is also found on the high tablelands and in the valleys of the Massif Central, in France. This plant appreciates dry and stony soils, calcareous or acid. It can reach 14 meters in height, but most often, it does not grow above 1 or 2 meters high. In France, throughout the Massif Central and in Aveyron, cade juniper is used as the wedding and Christmas tree.
