
Make Your Own Homemade Moisturizer: Simple, Natural, and Effective
With the rise of natural and homemade skincare, making your own moisturizer has become an eco-friendly, economical, and skin-friendly option. Today, I'm sharing a simple recipe for creating a nourishing cream tailored to your skin type, using 100% natural ingredients.

🧴 Basic ingredients (for 100 ml of cream)

30 ml of vegetable oil (jojoba, sweet almond, hazelnut, coconut… depending on your skin)

60 ml of floral water (rose, lavender, orange blossom, etc.)

8 g of emulsifying wax (type wax no. 3 or Olivem 1000)

10 drops of vitamin E (natural preservative and antioxidant)

A few drops of essential oil (optional – lavender, tea tree, geranium, etc.)
🔬 Necessary material

A heat-resistant bowl
-
A whisk (manual or electric)
-
A mini bain-marie
-
A sterilized bottle or jar
-
A precision scale (for emulsifiers)

A thermometer (optional but useful)
🧪 Manufacturing steps

Heat the vegetable oil and emulsifying wax in a double boiler until the wax is completely melted.

In another container, warm the hydrosol .

Slowly pour the lukewarm hydrosol into the oil + wax mixture , whisking constantly to create the emulsion.

Continue mixing until the cream thickens as it cools.

Add the vitamin E and essential oils (if using), then mix again.

Transfer to your sterilized jar and let cool completely before closing.
🧴 Storage and use

Store in a cool , dark place.

Keeps for about 1 to 2 months (thanks to vitamin E).

Apply morning and/or evening to clean skin.
🌼 Some variations depending on your skin

Oily skin : hazelnut oil + lavender hydrosol

Dry skin : avocado or coconut oil + rose water

Sensitive skin : calendula oil + chamomile hydrosol

Mature skin : argan oil + rose water + rose geranium essential oil
