History and Origin

Thymus is a genus of plants of the lamiaceae family. This genus has more than 300 species. The name thymus comes from the Greek word thumon which means perfume, referring to the pleasant scent of the plant. Native to North Africa, Thymus satureioides, also known as Moroccan thyme grows on rather dry and rocky soil.

Thyme is tonic and energizing. Its mildness connects it to the frontal chakra, but it is also quite active on the level of the umbilical center of energy.

Thyme is often used for cooking.

Environment

Dilute between 20 and 30 % of this essential oil in other essential oils for using in atmospheric diffusion.

Synergy

It blends well with citrus, rosemary, bay laurel and lavender.

Thymus satureioides Essential oil can solidify or crystallize at room temperature. This does not affect the quality and the properties of the product. Just warm the bottle in your hands, under running warm water or in a water bath for a few minutes so the oil liquefies again.
