History and Origin
A strong and resistant tree of the myrtaceae family that can grow up to 8 meters high, Leptospermum scoparium has small fragrant leaves and aromatic white flowers. Native to New Zealand, Australia and Tasmania, the plant has long been used in Maori medicine to treat wounds, cuts and skin infections. It is sometimes also called "Tea tree" in English, but it should not be confused with the real "Tea tree" which is actually Melaleuca alternifolia.
