History and Origin

Rosalina is a typical melaleuca shrub: white trunk and thin bark. It can be found in Australia where it easily adapts to all types of soils. It attracts birds particularly. This shrub grows quickly and it can reach up to 9 meters in height. It is very similar to Melaleuca alternifolia, tea tree, except for the very different biochemistry of its essential oil.

Extraction : Steam distillation
Oil Characteristics : Clear mobile liquid, pale yellow, with a woody, flowery and camphoric scent. Similar to rosewood.
Properties : Antiinfectious, antiseptic, antifungal, expectorant, antispasmodic, anticonvulsant. Anti-ageing, regenerating. Calming, relaxing. 
Indications : Bronchitis, tracheitis, rhino-pharyngitis, colds... especially in children. Acne, herpes. Insomnia, stress.

Perfumery

Rosalina is used in making perfumes and toilet waters. Its scent is sweet and pleasant with flowery and woody notes.

Skincare

It is used in the treatment of acne and herpes.

Eucalyptus, rosemary, ravintsara, thyme, marjoram, palmarosa, tea tree, mandarin, petitgrain orange, lavender, melissa.
