In Orient, cumin owns a large space in terms of aromatics. A common belief is that cumin has anti-anger properties. It is said that as soon as an angry man takes a spoonful of a dish with cumin, tension will fall. Cumin is also cited by Dioscoride who describes it as a cure-all. In the Middle-Age, people believed that carrying a pouch of the spice on you was a good way of keeping evil spirits and spells away.
